The Last Hurrah
Yesterday our Disneyland passes expired, so we decided to make one last visit to the parks. We got there before it opened and stayed the entire day. Dillon was a trooper and actually took a nap in his stroller - I can't remember the last time he napped at Disneyland! We had a great day and I swear I took a million pictures (OK, maybe not quite a million, but close). It was the first time that I brought my new camera with me and I didn't hold back. I took pictures of signs, people, plants, people by plants, and anything else that caught my eye. And so as not to bore you with a million pictures in this post, I have decided to bore you by posting the pictures in a couple posts over the next few days. Aren't I nice? First up, the plants...

Cake Class
Thursdays are typically my busiest day. I go to bible study at my church and then I go to Dillon's mommy and me class right after. But, I have been tossing around the idea of taking a Wilton Method Cake Decorating class for a long time and apparently I am nuts because I finally signed up for one... and it's on Thursday. Like I didn't already have enough to do, right?
Anyway, I just finished up Course 1 and I loved it - I learned how to make roses, pipped figures and a bunch of different borders. I had a lot of fun and got a chance to do something that I love (not to mention a break from the house). I really recommend the class to anyone who loves making cakes and wants to learn some new skills.
Each week you bring a frosted layer cake and then decorate it while at the class. The first week the class focuses on decorating with stars and the cake you make is a rainbow made of stars. It also happened to be a few days before Jordan's birthday, so the timing couldn't have been more perfect.
The second class teaches figure making and pipped faces. We also learned how to make some flowers, but the cake for this week was clowns. I so do not like clowns, but I made the cake anyway. You do have the option to make a different cake, but I figured I might as well get the experience and I was the only one who made the "recommended" clown cake.
For the final you make a cake featuring a bouquet of roses. I had a hard time learning the technique, but once I got it down, they came out great and easily.

Breakfast Date
This morning I went on a date with the most handsome guy on the planet. He seriously makes my heart melt with one glance. We sat at a checkerboard table inside of Starbucks and chatted over oatmeal. He drank chocolate milk and I drank a black iced tea. What a way to start the day!
